Placesy is a social app that lets adults share public places they would like to visit and connect with other people who want to go too. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and our Safety Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must be at least 18 years old. You must complete identity verification (photo ID plus a liveness selfie, processed by our verification partner) before posting, expressing interest, or messaging. One account per person; accounts are personal and cannot be sold or transferred. We may refuse, suspend, or remove any account that fails verification or that we reasonably believe is fake, underage, or operated by someone other than the verified person.
A verified badge means the account holder passed an automated ID and selfie check at a point in time. It does NOT mean we have vetted their character, criminal history, or intentions, and it does NOT guarantee your safety. Do not lower your guard because a profile is verified. Meeting anyone from the app is your decision and your responsibility — always follow the Safety Policy, meet only in open public places, and stay aware of your surroundings at all times.
Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Keep your login credentials secure — you are responsible for all activity on your account. Tell us immediately at support@placesy.app if you believe your account has been compromised.
You agree not to: harass, threaten, stalk, or abuse anyone; post sexual, violent, hateful, or illegal content; impersonate any person; misrepresent your age or identity; post content you do not have rights to; share another person’s private information; spam or advertise; solicit money from other users; use the app for commercial sex work or escorting; attempt to bypass moderation, verification, or safety features; scrape or reverse-engineer the app; or use the app for any unlawful purpose.
Posts must not contain phone numbers, email addresses, or social-media handles offered as a way to be contacted. This protects everyone: keeping first contact inside Placesy means conversations are attached to verified accounts and can be reviewed if something goes wrong. Automated moderation rejects posts containing contact details, including details written inside photos.
You keep ownership of the content you post. You grant Placesy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it within the app for as long as it remains posted. All posts pass through automated AI moderation before publication and may be rejected or removed. Reports filed by users are also reviewed with the help of automated triage. We may remove any content and suspend or terminate any account at our discretion to protect users.
Placesy helps people discover places and each other; we do not organise, supervise, or attend meetups, and we are not a party to any interaction between users. Real-world meetings carry inherent risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Placesy is not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or offline, or for any loss, injury, or harm arising from communications, meetups, or relationships formed through the app. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users.
The app uses your postcode-derived location to show nearby places and approximate distances. Distances shown are approximate. Never rely on the app to judge whether a place or area is safe — assess it yourself when you arrive, and leave if it does not feel right.
New accounts receive a free trial with full access. After the trial, Chat and Video memberships are billed through the App Store or Google Play and renew monthly until cancelled in your store account settings. Coins are consumable in-app purchases; a boost spends one coin and places your post in the Boosted strip for 12 hours (boosting again adds 12 more hours and spends another coin). Coins and boosts are consumed on use and are non-refundable except where the law requires. Prices are shown in the app before purchase.
You can block any user (you will no longer see each other) and report any post, profile, or conversation. We act on reports, including with automated review, and may warn, restrict, suspend, or permanently ban accounts. We may also report unlawful conduct to law enforcement and cooperate with lawful investigations.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings — this permanently removes your profile, posts, matches, and messages. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you breach these terms, put other users at risk, or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (content licence for published reports, liability, disputes) survive termination.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that content is accurate, or that any user is who they claim to be beyond the point-in-time verification check described above.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Placesy and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app or your interactions with other users. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
You agree to indemnify Placesy against claims arising from your content, your breach of these terms, or your interactions with other users, to the extent permitted by law.
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available in the app, and material changes will be highlighted in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept them.
These terms are governed by the law of the United Kingdom, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the UK courts, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
